Audit Manager

PURPOSE

The Audit Manager will have increased responsibilities in terms of:

  • Managing a less complex and less extended portfolio of clients;
  • Managing project teams; and
  • Involvement in Go-to-Market, strengthening client relationships, client acquisition, and development/promoting cross-service lines service offerings.

The Manager primarily reports to and liaises on a continuous basis with the partner/director responsible for the overall client relationship, the service/sub-service line leader, and the partner/director in charge of client development and Go-to-Market.

OBJECTIVES / CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Technical and quality of services

  • To plan the assignments appropriately and allocate the appropriate team to his/her client portfolio, assign tasks, supervise, manage, advise, and review the performance of the team to provide high-quality service delivery;
  • To ensure service compliance and Risk & Quality Assurance in line with the legislation, accounting, and auditing standards as well as the TGS methodology and tools/enablers in force;


Productivity and portfolio size

  • To manage a portfolio of clients valued at approximately EUR 150k – EUR 250k and maintain the relationship with those clients ensuring positive feedback from them;
  • To build and manage the budget allocated per each client and undertake measures in line with firm policies and procedures as well as profitability targets;


Management and people(including leadership skills)

  • Act as a counselor, coach, and role model for lower-level staff.


Go-to-Market and initiatives

  • To participate in the Firm’s “Go-to-Market” and client acquisition process;
  • To maintain strong client relationships, identify opportunities for introducing new services to existing clients, explore and suggest ways to attract new clients, and support the cross-selling process;
  • To identify opportunities for introducing new services to existing clients, explore the market for business opportunities, pursue those to attract new clients, prepare specific client acquisition strategies, and actively participate in the selling process.

Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical and quality of services

  • Liaises regularly with clients’ key managers to provide updates on the client’s business situation.
  • Demonstrates strong technical skills & knowledge to identify risks, remedy options and risk minimization solutions.


Productivity and portfolio size

  • Allocates and oversees the relationship of direct reports as well as team members with a clients’ portfolio of different sectors and manages the relationship with specific clients as allocated by the Partner in charge/Head of Assurance to secure customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for follow-up on the late collection clients.
  • Conducts regular internal meetings with Managers to follow up on the status of all active projects and escalates to the Head of Assurance/Partner in case of deviations in activities.
  • Prepares own timesheets in time, complies with the allocated hourly budget of the assigned tasks, controls team’s budget, and takes corrective actions in case of any deviation to secure efficiency and on-time delivery.
  • Respect the deadlines and escalate to his/her superiors any deviations proactively.


Management and people(including leadership skills)

  • Monitors, reviews, and approves the timesheets of own team members.
  • Manages interpersonal relations and inspires team members.
  • Provides clear information to team members on their expected business behaviors and deliverables vs. assigned tasks and/or objectives.
  • Coordinates, prepares, and finalizes team members’ performance evaluations on a timely basis.
  • Coaches and trains more junior people and provide technical advice/ support to the team.
  • Proposes and develops methodologies to collect on time any information, that could impact TGS activity and design the format of the management reports, which will support the Service Line Leader/Partner in charge to make sound business decisions.
  • Supports other administrative and/ or operational tasks as assigned by the Partner in charge/Head of Assurance.


Go-to-Market and initiatives

  • Acts, as assigned by the Partner in charge/Head of Assurance, as TGS contact point with potential clients, to assess their needs, suggests to the Partner /Director in charge the business proposition, and follows up the proper implementation of any generated contract.
  • Identifies potential opportunities to provide services to clients (cross-selling).
  • Assists the Partner in charge/Head of Assurance in preparing the proposals for new clients.
  • Participates in the recruitment process, interviewing candidates for roles within the audit team, and suggesting best-fit candidates.
  • Participates in professional networking activities/events (conferences, presentations, etc.) and in client acquisition initiatives as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)

  • Post Graduate Studies, in Accounting, Information Systems, Audit, Finance, Insurance, Banks, Business Management, or other relevant areas.
  • Holding an ASPAAS or ACCA qualifications – Any exceptions will be approved by the Managing Partner
  • 8+ years of previous experience in a role that is directly related to the services provided to clients.
  • 4+ years of People Management experience.
  • Good coaching skills and team leadership

  • Advanced knowledge of audit, internal audit, and internal control;
  • People-oriented, and collaborative within cross-functional teams;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Agility to client-centered, proactive approach;
  • Ethical, transparent, good communication & training skills;
  • Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levels;
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering client solutions;
  • Ability to work at client premises;
  • Advanced level for at least one foreign language (preferably English) and knowledge of a second one is a plus;
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e., MS Office with emphasis on Excel and Word, as well as a good understanding of ERP, IT security, and data analysis and analytics tools);
  • Team orientation;
  • Demonstrates significant commitment to own development; proactively seeks out knowledge, information, and training on a broad array of aspects that are value-adding to the firm.
